Whittier Christian High School is a Christ-centered community where students are equipped to explore their gifts, discover their purpose, and pursue their calling with faith and excellence. Founded in 1958, WCHS serves approximately 425 students with a 15:1 student-to-teacher ratio and a 98% college attendance rate. Students can pursue a College Prep Diploma, a High School Diploma or Alpha Honors Diploma, which includes honors and AP courses, as well as opportunities for dual enrollment college credit.

WCHS offers seven specialized academies, including STEM Biomedical, STEM Engineering, Business, Humanities, and Fine Arts. Students are also immersed in a vibrant school life that includes CIF championship athletics, thriving arts programs and over 20 student-led clubs. Chapel, Bible courses and service hours are built into each year, ensuring that faith is not just taught but lived. Graduates leave prepared for both college and ready to lead, serve and follow Christ wherever they go.

THE TOM CAFFREY BOYS TEAM ROOM

The boys’ team room is named after legendary football coach, baseball coach, and former Athletic Director Thomas Caffrey. In his years as a coach, Caffrey won five CIF championships: four in football (1979, 1983, 1984, and 1990) and one in baseball (1987). As an Athletic Director, Caffrey’s teams won countless league titles and nine CIF championships.

THE WCHS WEIGHT ROOM

Rebuilding our weight room was a dream of former coach Jon Caffrey when he returned to Whittier Christian more than five years ago. The weight room was in need of serious renovation, and in 2005 that renovation was completed. New paint and carpet, graphics, custom rubber bumper plates, all-new machines, platforms, bars, and dumbbells were added—just to name a few of the changes. Our weight room is one of the finest in the area, and definitely the best for a school our size. More than 500 students use the weight room on a daily basis, and we are proud of the improvements it has helped make in our athletic programs.

THE DON STEWARD MEMORIAL BASEBALL FIELD

Our baseball complex is named after baseball coach, assistant football coach, and physical education teacher Don Steward. Coach Steward was well known for his dedication to all student-athletes at Whittier Christian High School. The Don Steward Baseball Field is one of the nicest fields in the area. In recent years, our baseball team has won four league championships.

WCHS BASEBALL TRAINING FACILITY

Our baseball training facility is one of the best in Orange County—built to develop elite athletes in a dedicated, high-performance environment. With three full-length batting cages and three bullpen mounds, players have year-round access to the reps they need. Nighttime lighting allows teams to train after dark, and our specialized Arm Care Center supports long-term development and injury prevention. This facility is best in class and reflects our commitment to training the whole athlete—mentally, physically, and spiritually.

THE LEON DAVIS EVENT CENTER

The completion of the Leon Davis Event Center in 2005 was the culmination of years of dreams, plans, and dedication on the part of our administrators and school board. The LDEC is known by current students as the heart of our campus and athletic program. It is named after beloved Bible teacher and coach Leon Davis. The LDEC is home to all of our gym sports, as well as chapels, pep rallies, and other events. It has seating for 700, but we have been known to pack it out at over 800 with standing room only. The Leon Davis Event Center is truly the crowning achievement of our athletic facilities.

THE WILLIAM PATE SOFTBALL FIELD

Our softball complex is named after former business administrator and softball coach William E. Pate. Mr. Pate was a huge softball fan and was loved by all teachers, staff, and students. The softball field was an accomplishment in his honor and a vision he had wanted to achieve for many years.

SOFTBALL BATTING CAGE & BULLPEN AREA

Integrated directly into our softball field complex, the WCHS softball training area features two state-of-the-art batting cages and two full bullpens designed for focused, high-rep development. Built for performance and convenience, this setup gives our players immediate access to year-round training just steps from the field. It’s one of the top softball training environments in Orange County and a reflection of our commitment to championship-level preparation.

OUTDOOR AGILITY & SPEED AREA

Our outdoor agility and speed area features a 40-yard turf surface designed for multi-program use. From football and baseball to soccer and cheer, this space is used daily to sharpen speed, footwork, and explosive movement. Even in rainy weather, teams can get valuable work in without canceling practice. It's a flexible, functional space that keeps our student-athletes training, rain or shine.

Outdoor Multisport Training Area

At Whittier Christian High School, our newly enhanced multisport court is a dynamic space designed for versatility and high-level play. With a professional-grade surface and regulation markings for futsal, volleyball and basketball, the court allows students to sharpen their skills across multiple disciplines in one centralized location. Whether hosting fast-paced futsal matches, competitive volleyball games or intense basketball practices, this court serves as a hub for athletic development, team bonding and school spirit. It’s a place where students push limits, learn strategy and compete with purpose all within a Christ-centered community that values discipline, excellence and joy in every game played.
