WCHS Academic Support Program

Support & Encouraging Students in the Pursuit of Their Life Calling
Our mission in the Academic Support Program is to help support and encourage students with identified learning disabilities who need additional assistance in achieving their academic goals during their time here at WCHS. Our Academic Support staff partners with each family to ensure student success and a fulfilling educational experience. Students enrolled in our Academic Support Program are offered accommodations along with individual attention and guidance to thrive academically. Accommodations include study skills development, extended test taking time, assistance with note taking, preferential seating, on-campus personal tutoring for students in the program and more.

  • Study Hall 4.0

    Study Hall 4.0 is designed for students with documented learning disabilities. It provides these students with study skills coaching, executive function strategies and a higher level of accountability. In the Study Hall 4.0, students are given time to work through material and assignments from their other courses while working closely with the teacher to strategize and prioritize a plan for academic success. Class size is limited to 10 students.
  • Individual Education Therapy

    Individual one-on-one sessions between student and therapist including a variety of techniques designed to address individual needs in order to improve ability to think, reason and process information. Techniques emphasize basic skill areas such as reading, writing, spelling and math, applying reasoning skills within each area. The goal is to help students develop tools for independent learning in both the classroom and life. Directed Studies is a graded course and is implemented in the students schedule earning units towards graduation.

  • Group Education Therapy

    These sessions are designed for no more than four students in a group, placed according to grade and/or need. These students also meet as a class, receive a grade, and earn units toward graduation. Students in the group are mediated by a Directed Studies Educational therapist as well as having the advantage of peer insights as they interact with each other throughout the prescribed techniques in common areas of struggle.


    Cost: $3,500/school year

  • Robin Longinow

    rlonginow@wchs.com

    Robin Longinow began her career in education as a high school English teacher in a public school just outside of Atlanta where she grew up. Since that time, she has taught in both public and private schools, served as a high school principal, taught as an adjunct professor and supervised student teachers. She is also a licensed educational therapist and holds a masters degree in Education with an emphasis in Special Ed from Biola University. Her passion is helping students learn and grow to become confident life-long learners. Currently, she serves as the Academic Support Program Director at WCHS. She is married and has three grown children and seven grandchildren. Her hobbies include reading, running and spending time with family.
