AP/Honors

The Alpha Honors Program at Whittier Christian High School is designed for students who desire a rigorous academic experience while growing in leadership, character and purpose. This program challenges students to pursue excellence across disciplines and prepares them for success at the college level and beyond. It reflects our commitment to helping students explore their academic strengths, discover their God-given potential and pursue their calling with focus and discipline.

To qualify for the Alpha Honors diploma, students must maintain a cumulative weighted GPA of 3.5 or higher across all eight semesters and complete a structured progression of honors-level courses during at least three of their four years, including both junior and senior year. Students must also complete their senior-year Alpha track courses with a B- or higher in at least two of the four designated honors areas. These tracks include subjects like English, History, Math and Science, with Advanced Placement courses such as AP Government carrying specific grade requirements. Limited exceptions may be granted under faculty approval, but overall standards remain high to ensure students are consistently challenged and supported.

Seniors who earn the Alpha Honors designation are recognized at commencement for their achievement through the seventh semester. This distinction affirms not just academic performance, but also perseverance and growth. Through the Alpha Honors Program, students build habits of excellence and integrity that extend far beyond the classroom as they prepare to lead and serve in whatever future God has planned for them.
